Sport Specific Information
When and where did you begin this sport?
He took up cross-country skiing at age five and Para Nordic skiing in 2010 in Le Grand-Bornand, France.
Why this sport?
During his early years he played football, which he combined with alpine skiing and then cross-country skiing. After his accident he gave up sport, until one day he decided to start skiing again. "What I like the most is the chance to overcome myself, the effort, the gliding sensation and the freedom by being outside in nature. Also the mix between cross-country skiing and shooting [in biathlon] and the beauty of the sport."

OCCUPATION
Before his accident he wanted to join the French army as a parachute trooper. "The worst thing of this situation [his accident] was that I was no longer able to join the army." Once he took up his career as a high performance athlete he was invited to join the army as a civil agent with a contract that allows him to train full-time. "Even if I could not join the army as an able-bodied person, it's as an impaired person that I represent them. And that is a big personal accomplishment."
