Sport Specific Information
When and where did you begin this sport?
She began Para alpine skiing at age eight with the National Sports Center for the Disabled. She also competed in wheelchair rugby before taking up Para Nordic skiing in 2014 in Winter Park, CO, United States of America.
Why this sport?
She had previously been discouraged from participating in sport due to her high level of pain. "Mark [Birdseye, coach] encouraged me to try Nordic sit skiing and would not leave me alone until I did. Much to my surprise, once I started skiing and training, my physical pain was gone. It is really surreal for me. I had no idea what I was getting into, but I wouldn't trade it for the world."
