Sport Specific Information
When and where did you begin this sport?
He first practised athletics at age five in 1998 at a Little Athletics club in Canberra, ACT, Australia. At school he competed against able-bodied students. He switched to Para athletics at age 12 and began competing a year later.
Why this sport?
As a child he wanted to compete in athletics like his older brothers, which he eventually did and performed well but could not reach the next level. His parents became aware of Para athletics in 2004 when they saw a group of Para athletes at the state school championships. He was then discovered by Para athletics coach Chris Timpson at a school athletics carnival.
