Sport Specific Information
When and where did you begin this sport?
He began the sport in 2010.
Why this sport?
After recovering from his stroke, he wanted to find something positive out of his new situation. After discovering that he was eligible to compete in para-athletics, he set himself a new goal of competing at the Paralympic Games for Australia.
Club / Team
Mayne Harriers Athletics Club: Brisbane, QLD, AUS
General Interest
Sporting philosophy / motto
"Staying positive helps me get through the really tough training sessions and turn up to every training session and give it my all." (runpositive.wordpress.com, 27 Jan 2014)
Impairment
In 2009 he had a stroke, which caused complete loss of movement to the right side of his body. Doctors did not know exactly what caused the stroke, but believe a high school rugby match where he injured his neck six months earlier may have contributed.
