Why this sport?
Following rehabilitation, sport became a way of life for him. He initially chose powerlifting, but a chronic injury meant he was unable to be competitive at international level. To give himself a chance of winning a Paralympic medal he took up shot put, discus and rowing. "I chose discus and shot put because they're cool, real men's sports."
