She does not like to be away from her family for long periods of time, and makes an effort to regularly go home to see them in Castro, Chile. "My family and I see each other every month. I can't be away from them for long. I go to all of the celebrations - Father's Day, Mother's Day, birthdays, it's impossible not to go. Sometimes my coach tells me, 'No, you can't travel now' and I say I need to go, I can't miss my family members' birthdays." (paralimpicoschile.wordpress.com, 27 Nov 2018)

SPORTING FOCUS
In 2017 she decided to quit her studies in order to focus on training, and relocated from Castro in Chile to the capital Santiago. "I came to Santiago to reach my best form. In Chiloe [island where her family live] I didn't have the best conditions. I applied for a scholarship to train at the High Performance Centre and stay at the residence to travel less."
