Awards and honours
He was named the John Gaviglio Most Outstanding Throws Athlete for 2007 by Athletics North Queensland [ANQ]. He also won Sporting Wheelies' Queensland Amateur Athlete of the Year 2006 and North Queensland Athlete of the Year 2007. (, 07 Jan 2012)
