HARD TIMES
She was disappointed not to be selected for the Mexico swimming team ahead of the 2016 Paralympic Games, but bounced back the following year to win two medals at the 2017 World Championships in Mexico City, Mexico. "I gave 210% every day. Besides training in the pool I went to the gym, I ran and practised yoga. I did thousands of things to reach a good physical level. 'Was it worth it, everything I did? Maybe I am not fit for this. I should have stayed in school'. I had all those things in my head. [But in the end] it helped me to find myself, that person who used to love swimming and enjoy every moment." (guadalajara.gob.mx, 14 Feb 2018)
