Why this sport?
She originally participated in athletics at school, until one day a teacher invited her to try swimming. "I loved athletics, but [teacher] Maylo Nunez asked me if I wanted to try swimming. I didn't like the idea at first. I wasn't worried about being able to swim or not due to my hands, I just didn't think it was a sport for me. Nevertheless, once I got in the water I discovered I was born to swim."
