When and where did you begin this sport?
She got into para-triathlon in early 2014, following prior interest in para-swimming.
Why this sport?
She got into triathlon after she was offered a sponsorship for the various types of prosthetic limbs required for each discipline, as she could not afford them on her own. She had always preferred swimming longer distances, and also enjoyed running to school, so triathlon was a natural fit for her.

She trains for about 25 hours a week.
General Interest

In May 2014 she suffered a stress fracture in her leg, which prevented her from running for ten weeks. (, 24 Sep 2014)

Other sports
Prior to taking up para-triathlon she competed in para-swimming at international level, including at the European championships. (, 01 Jan 2016)
She was a promising gymnast until she was diagnosed with bone cancer at age eight. After two years in hospital and multiple infections, her right leg had to be amputated. Two months after leaving hospital she was already cycling with a prosthesis. (, 15 Jun 2011;, 11 Nov 2015;, 22 Jul 2015)
