In early 2011 he had to have a toe removed due to poor blood circulation to his feet as a result of his injuries. "I wasnít really bothered about losing my toe, it was just a pain how long it took to heal. I had to be careful on it for months.Ē (, 18 Nov 2011)
Other sports
He regularly plays wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby. In 2010 he also climbed the Ailsa Craig mountain in Scotland using crutches and competed in the Glasgow 10km wheelchair race. (, 18 Nov 2011)
Since 2011 he has been training with the Scottish Institute of Sport with the aim of qualifying for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. (, 18 Nov 2011)
In 2009 while on holiday in Gran Canaria with his dad, he fell down a flight of stairs. He was found unconscious in a heap on the floor and when he came round he could not feel his legs. He says he has no memory of the incident. The accident resulted in 75 percent paralysis from the waist down.
Other information
After returning to Glasgow further tests revealed that he had severed 48 percent of his spinal cord.
