"I did not know about Para sports until I became acquainted with Para powerlifting through [Iranian Para cyclist] Bahman Golbarnezhad and started training. He was my biggest inspiration to take up and continue sport."

GOLBARNEZHAD TRIBUTE
After winning silver in the 107kg category at the 2018 Asian Para Games in Indonesia, he held a picture of Iranian Para cyclist Bahman Golbarnezhad during the medal ceremony. He has described Golbarnezhad, who died after an accident competing in the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, as his biggest sporting inspiration.
