She took up the sport in 2014.
Why this sport?
She initially got involved in Para athletics, competing in throwing events, but she opted to switch to Para powerlifting after she did not achieve the results she had hoped for. "I saw a [powerlifting] competition and I liked it. I searched the phone number of the coach of Jalisco [state in Mexico] and asked her if I could join the team."
