She wanted to remain active following her accident and got in touch with local sports clubs. The charity SportsAble then helped her get involved in sport.

Injuries
In 2017 she was involved in a car crash, which resulted in an injury to the C5/6 disc in her neck and reduced muscle power in her arms. She spent eight days in hospital. (Facebook page, 27 Jul 2017)

Impairment
In October 2008 she was on a motorcycle working her way through standing traffic at 10 miles per hour in London, England, when she was hit by a car that had reversed over a raised kerb. She suffered a broken lower left leg, whiplash and a strained upper right shoulder. Following the accident she began feeling numbness and tingling in her left leg. Her condition deteriorated and she was diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome [CRPS], which led to paralysis from the chest down. (blesma.org, 02 May 2016; walesonline.co.uk, 06 Oct 2013)
