She began powerlifting in 2016 in Osaka, Japan.
Why this sport?
She took up the sport as part of her training for Para canoe. Later she met Japanese Para powerlifter Hiroshi Miura at an anti-doping workshop, and he advised her on how to increase her strength and progress in powerlifting.
