Impairment
At age 23 she was diagnosed with pancytopenia, a condition in which there is a reduction in the number of red and white blood cells. She experienced side effects from the medicine she had to take, which resulted in necrosis of the femoral head in her lower limbs. She has since undergone hip replacement surgery. She studied photography at Osaka University of Arts in Japan. However she quit he degree and began her career as a photographer at age 19.
