She took up the sport in 2020.
Why this sport?
She first took up Para jiu-jitsu shortly after her accident. "Once I recovered I started looking for a sport I could practise. I tried several but jiu-jitsu hooked me." She later became interested in powerlifting after being encouraged by a coach. "I had been researching about Para powerlifting and one of my fitness trainers mentioned it. He told me I had the level to compete, so I decided to give it a try."
