When and where did you begin this sport?
He began playing volleyball at age nine. He took up sitting volleyball in 2013.
Why this sport?
In 2010 he returned to beach volleyball after two years out due to injury. However, he found it too painful to play and he ended up quitting the sport. A friend, who was a Paralympian, introduced him to sitting volleyball in Niteroi, Brazil. He competed in his first tournament a week later and was called up to the national team the following month.
