When and where did you begin this sport?
He began Para alpine skiing in 2009 in Switzerland. He took up shooting Para sport in 2022.
Why this sport?
He took up Para skiing as he enjoyed being in the mountains and the snow. "I've always liked skiing alongside my friends. When I was at the hospital in Nottwil [Switzerland], I watched the white mountains and a big desire to return to skiing grew inside of me. To go back to those mountains where I love to be." He decided to get involved in shooting Para sport after he retired from alpine skiing following the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing.

Injuries

Impairment
He has incomplete paraplegia as a result of a malignant tumour in his lower back, which was diagnosed in 2003. He had the sacrum bone removed from the base of his spine and has undergone around 80 operations since his initial diagnosis. SUMMER GAMES DREAM
He retired from Para alpine skiing following the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing. He then set his sights on competing in shooting Para sport at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, and made his shooting Para sport World Cup debut in July 2022 in Munich, Germany. "I will take up this adventure because I want to compete at the summer Games. For me [the World Cup event in Munich] was like training. I came to Munich only to see how a shooting Para sport competition works and to watch the other athletes." OTHER ACTIVITIES
He has been involved with Esperance, a charity that has helped to build schools, bridges and infirmaries in southern Vietnam. He founded Ti-Rex, an association that promotes outdoor sports for people with impairments in Ticino, Switzerland. He has also worked as secretary of the fishing association of Mendrisio in Switzerland, and been a member of the Ticino canton's commission for the integration of foreigners.
