When and where did you begin this sport?
She began skiing at age two in Collingwood, ON, Canada. She started sit-skiing in 2019.
Why this sport?
"I grew up skiing and it was my favourite thing in the world. After my skiing accident I immediately recognised I now had the chance to ski in a different way, so I set myself the goal of representing my country at the winter Paralympics."

In 2018, at age 24, she suffered serious injuries, including a fractured spine, after she and a German man were caught in an avalanche while skiing in Grenoble, France. The German man died in the avalanche, which threw her into a post, causing the injuries to her back. Doctors inserted a titanium plate to fuse three of her vertebrae. She was initially paralysed below the waist, but has since been able to walk again with the assistance of crutches. (, 21 Mar 2018)
Other information
After completing a bachelor's degree in kinesiology at Queen's University in Kingston, ON, Canada, she began studying medicine at University College Dublin in Ireland. She was in her first year of study in Dublin when she acquired her impairment. She plans to become a doctor.
