Other information
After deciding he wanted to begin ski racing and represent Ireland at the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing, he began by earning coaching qualifications in Spain and Canada. "As I couldn't find an avenue to start racing immediately, I decided to train as a ski instructor, as it seemed like the best place to start. I moved to Canada [in 2018] and landed a job on Mount Seymour, Vancouver, teaching skiing that winter. In March 2019, I took my level 1 CADS [Canadian Adaptive Snowsports] instructor course and asked the course conductor what she knew about Para ski racing. She put me in touch with Rocky Mountain Adaptive, an adaptive ski school. I reached out to the director Jamie [McCulloch], and he told me they were planning to start a race team that winter. Knowing this was the break I'd been looking for, I signed up immediately." (, 07 Nov 2021)
