She began the sport at age 17, but had already been involved in ballet and other forms of dance.
Why this sport?
She saw a wheelchair dancing demonstration and liked it immediately. "I tried it one time and never looked back."

Impairment
She has been using a wheelchair since the age of 14, following injuries she suffered to both her ankles in a fall during a dancing demonstration.
