Sport Specific Information
When and where did you begin this sport?
He began Para dance sport in 2009 at Star Wheels Amateur Sports Association in Alba, Italy.
Why this sport?
Italian professional dancer Giordana Di Tivoli invited him to join a dance group. "[He] had a particular sensitivity towards impaired people, always convinced that even with the wheelchair you could still dance, bring out new skills. I went to see a show of his students and I was struck, people with wheelchairs danced together, they were all beautiful. Then I found myself in the middle of the group, circling. I had never felt so good. Dancing made me remember a dream I had as a boy, which was to wear the blue shirt, and to represent Italy."

In 2013 he founded the dance association ASD Semplicemente Danza in Savona, Italy. "For three years [from 2010] I was going back and forth every week to Alba, Italy, to train with the group I was in. In 2013 I stopped going to Alba and began staying in Liguria. [Professional dancer] Giordana Di Tivoli and I founded an association to ensure that wheelchair dancing was introduced there too." (, 10 Mar 2019;, 25 Jun 2017)

He tried a number of sports growing up, including Para cycling and wheelchair hockey, before deciding to focus on Para dance sport. After doctors advised he stop Para cycling following tendon surgery on both legs, he competed in wheelchair hockey for a few years before taking up Para dance sport. "I have always loved sports since I was a child and I have always practised it whatever the chances were because of my condition, which struck me from birth but which, however, did not prevent me from having a normal life. I have practised sports at an amateur level, cycling, swimming, horse riding, wheelchair hockey, but dancing was the true turning point in my sporting life. I couldn't stand a life without sports, for me it was an outlet, a fun activity, a confrontation with myself to see where I could get." (, 10 Mar 2019;, 07 Dec 2016)
