Sport Specific Information
When and where did you begin this sport?
She began snowboarding competitively in 2012 after her leg amputation.
General Interest
Impairment
She was born with amniotic band syndrome and club foot, and had numerous operations to correct the condition. "At age 12 my orthopaedic surgeon suggested another corrective surgery that consisted of a metal plate and seven screws to be inserted in my left foot in order to straighten and flatten out my foot. Unfortunately I developed a bad Staph infection a few months later. Several more surgeries and antibiotics followed but to no avail. In January 2002 the decision to amputate my left leg below the knee was made." (gofundme.com, 08 Nov 2012)
