When and where did you begin this sport?
He began adaptive snowboarding in 2012 at the National Ability Center in Park City, UT, United States of America.
Why this sport?
During his rehabilitation he watched a video of US Para snowboarder Amy Purdy competing with two prosthetic legs and it inspired him to get involved in the sport. "That was a game-changer. I thought, 'Oh my God, I could totally overcome this'."

Impairment
He was injured in July 2010 while serving as a medic in the armed forces in Afghanistan. "After a road side bomb was detonated by the enemy beneath my vehicle, I nearly lost my legs below the knee." MEDICAL PASSION
He was raised by a family of physicians, and grew up passionate about practising medicine. After completing a few undergraduate semesters, he enlisted in the Navy because it would afford him opportunities to administer medical treatment during combat operations. He served in Afghanistan as a Hospital Corpsman [combat medic] with the 3rd Battalion 6th Marines until he was injured by a roadside bomb. (cpf.navy.mil, 15 Nov 2013)
