Sport Specific Information
Why this sport?
He wanted to resume practising sports after his accident. "I played volleyball at a fairly high level, training six days a week. My dream was to become a physical education teacher. When a friend's mother saw me lying on my bed at home like a pathetic bird, she told me about a Para talent day at Papendal Sports Centre [in the Netherlands]. 'You have to go there', she told me. Skiing and snowboarding made the most sense. I can surf and skate and know how to stand on a board."
