When and where did you begin this sport?
He first encountered boccia in his capacity as a day-care provider for people with an impairment in Leamington, England. He began competing in 1998.
Why this sport?
He took a group to a sports open day in the early 1990s and saw boccia demonstrated. Intrigued, he took it up himself and began playing competitively.

NATIONAL FIRSTS
Alongside Zoe Robinson, Dan Bentley and David Smith, he was part of the first British boccia team to have won gold at the Paralympic Games. The four players claimed victory in the BC1-2 after defeating defending champions Portugal 8-4 at the 2008 Games in Beijing.
